My 50th Post!

I still can’t believe it is my 50th post—given how many blogs I purged in the past. I have invested so much energy, love, and care into this platform and met many lovely people, making it impossible to even think of abandoning this one! First, thank you so much for your comments, likes, and care wherever you are. The first purpose of my blog has been fulfilled now that I have reached you, my dear readers.

When I first created this blog, I had no idea what I would write about or who would read my posts. It turns out that we are better off letting go of any expectations when embarking on creative endeavors. However, I already knew I didn’t want to make money off this blog since I had no patience or desire to work on digital marketing skills to improve my Google ranking and SEO—that’s a plus.

What could I have done more?

There are numerous things I would love to cover here, but my blog inevitably became all about traveling and living in Japan thanks to my burning desire to discover every nook and cranny of this country. Of course, I could have talked about Japanese culture more, but I thought Wikipedia and other significant sources would help you more.

I could have written about the current political atmosphere in Japan (or lack thereof), but I didn’t want to ruffle anyone by talking about someone else’s country. Let’s face it: I am still a foreigner here and will always be, even though I pay my taxes like anyone else. It is safer to avoid such dividing subjects anyway.

Finally, I decided to write more book reviews, but since I read many of them, it became hard to catch up with my read pile and pick up the ones I wanted to concentrate on. I will have to be pickier with my choices in the future if I want to keep writing more book reviews

What do you think I can do more?

So, I am asking you, my readers. I am attaching a poll under this post to hear what you think about what I can do more. Unfortunately, I can’t promise to write about everything you want me to because of a lack of time and resources, but I would love to have a project and slowly work on it in the coming months.

I look forward to reading your answers and comments.

Thank you for reading this and showing love for my blog. And have a fabulous April, wherever you are!

Congratulations on your 50th post, Bahanur. You definitely have covered a good distance. But, it is long journey with many milestones along the way. You will come across many people and will experience many new things in the blogosphere. Keep moving and growing while expressing your heart out.
As for the topics to write about, you can discuss any thing under the sky. It’s your choice. This is the beauty of a personal blog. WordPress doesn’t impose any restrictions at all.
Your travelogues always make interesting reading. Writing book reviews is another very wonderful idea. You should think about it seriously. But, there is no use overdoing it. No need to burn you out. Just follow your own pace and enjoy your creative journey.

Thank you for your lovely comment, Shahbaz. I am so glad I have already met wonderful people, including you 😃 As for the topics to cover, you’re right! I can cover whatever I want since this is a personal blog. However, I want to work on book reviews more because reading is one of my passions, just like traveling.

Congrats on your 50th post! Regarding what you should do next, I think it’s best that you do what resonates with you. But I always enjoy posts that tell me more about the blogger behind the screen. Or any funny observations you may have about your life there. Keep on keeping on!

Happy 50th post Bahanur. It is definitely a long game. I started 8 1/2 years ago as a way to keep friends back home up to date on my travels. Almost 2,800 posts later, I find I still have more to say. Only hints I can offer…write what you know and love and engage with other bloggers with likes and comments. Cheers. Allan
